Twenty years ago, branch member Lydia Brown left a bequest of $7,000 to the branch to help “worthy graduate women at CU.” Since then, AAUW members Elizabeth Ricketts and Berny Udick have added gifts to the grant fund. Each year, the Boulder Branch provides several monetary awards from the interest from this endowment to University of Colorado graduate women.
We are now accepting applications for the 2012 grants. Please read the letter from our Grant Chair below for instructions.
March 2012
Dear Applicant,
Thank you for your interest in the Brown/Ricketts/Udick Grant. Please download the two-page application from the link below. Please note that your application is limited to the two-page form and applications that exceed 2 pages will be disqualified. The application and copies of graduate and undergraduate transcripts should be sent in PDF format to aauwboulderbranch@gmail.com. You must have been accepted in a graduate program, therefore the application must include you advisor’s signature.
The grant stipulates “a woman pursuing a graduate degree at the University of Colorado.” The $1000 awards will be presented in two payments in September 2012 and January 2013. Please do not apply if you plan to complete your graduate work prior to May 2013.
The deadline for responding is April 15, 2012. If you are one of the finalists, you will be called in early May for an interview with the committee. Results will be posted on the website after June 1, 2012.
We wish you success in graduate school. There are American Fellowships awarded by the American Association of University Women (www.aauw.org) at the national level. These are directed specifically toward women who have completed their course work for a doctorate and need financial help.
Sincerely,
Doris Hass, Chair

I am an international student who has been admitted by UC boulder, but I am still in China, How can I have the advisor’s signature?

Things that have worked for me in the past: filling the form out then faxing it to the person whose signature I need, they sign it, and then fax it back to me.
Or, filling it out, scanning it to make and electronic document, email that, they print it out, sign it, scan it, then send it back.
